WORKSHOPS
Workshop: Expressing your Goddess Self
Through Art
Through the tools of the inner child we will explore
who we are as women; as Goddesses. How do we feel in our skin, our
bodies, as lovers/mothers/daughers/women of the work world and society?
Through art, we will allow our spirits to rise up to express and
share our deepest essence, whether that be to shed old beliefs or
to embody and celebrate who we are.
Bio: Sophie Brunet, BFA, DVATI,
is passionate about working with women to guide the creative spirit
to come out and express through image all that words cannot capture.
Her enthousiasm for working with people combined with her affinity
for art bring her to facilitate workshops where creative expression
is about process rather than product and attaining deeper understanding
of self. She currently has a Solo Oil Painting Exhibition and has
a private practice in Art Therapy in Vancouver and Squamish. www.sophiebrunet.com

the transformative power of dance

made of energy. You are a divine being with infinite creative power.
Whether you realize it or not, you are designing your reality in
every moment. By knowing consciously about the Laws of Manifestation,
you can have more fun materializing opportunities, careers, money,
things, people, experiences and great joy. In this introductory

Workshop: The Breathing Drum, with Neith
Doffing
Drumming taps into layers of the mind and body
that other modalities cannot and brings about a state of calm, a
focused awareness and deep inspiration.
This play shop accesses our natural expressions
of rhythm, which originate from our hearts and are continuously
played through our breath. We will offer these unselfconscious rhythms
to the drum so that we can hear others and ourselves more clearly.
In this way we build community and connectedness while honouring
the individual within. We will experience many expansive and playful
practices with the drum and also learn traditional African/Cuban
drum circle rhythms to share with the entire gathering in the closing
circle.
Please bring a drum if you have one. Otherwise,
drums will be supplied.
Bio: Neith has been sharing drum
circle magic for two years at various gatherings and substance mis-use
treatment centres in Vancouver. She has been a practicing musician
for over 15 years. Neith also offers awareness activation through
photography as art therapy and permaculture within workshops.
Workshop: EXPLORING SELF IMAGE THROUGH
ART
This class offers you both a creative, and intellectually
stimulating, opportunity to explore what C.G. Jung’s concepts
of the ego, the persona, the shadow and the Self mean to you personally.
With absolutely no experience, skill or talent in art making, you
can explore how these different aspects of the self operate in your
personality, as well as how they interact with each other. Fun and
simple art making activities such as scribbling, blind drawing etc,
are used to draw out self images that will surprise you and offer
insight into parts of yourself you would like to know more about.
Through viewing and discussing your artwork in a playful, non-judgmental
manner you will discover the different roles the ego, persona, shadow
and self take to help you perform the many tasks in life, as well
as move you towards wholeness.
Bio: Susanna Ruebsaat has done
extensive research in the process of image making, her primary focus
being the relationship between image and image-maker, and the encouragement
of the development of insight through this relationship. Susanna
holds a BFA, Teaching Certificate, Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy,
Masters in Art Education and is currently working on her doctorate
exploring the relationship between perception and consciousness
and the role image plays in this dynamic.
Workshop: The Art of Authentic Sound and
Spoken Word
The workshop will start with exercises to awaken
your connection to your authentic sound. These exercises are designed
to dissolve boundaries, release inhibitions, and connect with the
primordial nature of sound. Through this experience you will be
able to release built up tension as well as cultivate the ability
to freely express sound within a group or partner setting. Next
we will explore play with words using games designed to open up
the free flow poet. You will have time to individually explore the
words that come forth. Then with the aid of singing bowls or selected
musical accompaniment you will have the opportunity to bridge the
worlds between music, poetry and authentic feeling expression by
sharing your creation.

and body language. Her motto is as long as you offer from the heart
everything is divinely inspired and will change you and the world.
Workshop: Dances With Words
This workshop offers the opportunity to explore
movement and sensory
awareness as sources of the creative impulse in writing. The internal
sensations and organic movements of our bodies provide us with fertile
ground from which images and stories can emerge. Descent into the
very matter of our being can move us beyond the stuck places in
our lives, and enable more embodied wisdom to find expression. Using
the Authentic Movement form, this workshop will weave moving, witnessing,
writing, and reading into a web of shared experience.
